Ask Jeeves Launches Ask Jeeves Sponsored Listings

Monday, August 1, 2005 - 05:31

OAKLAND, Calif., Aug 1, 2005 -- Ask Jeeves, Inc., a property of InterActiveCorp (IACI), today announced Ask Jeeves Sponsored Listings, a new search advertising product that will allow advertisers to more effectively purchase, manage and optimize campaigns on Ask Jeeves (Ask.com) and its advertising syndication network. Ask Jeeves Sponsored Listings is replacing the Company's Premier Listings product with an open-auction system that provides easier access for a diverse range of search advertisers. Sponsored Listings advertisers will continue to receive premier placement on Ask Jeeves above Google AdWords, which will also continue to be distributed on Ask Jeeves. The system is immediately available to existing Ask Jeeves advertisers, with general availability slated for August 15th at http://sponsoredlistings.ask.com .

"The growth of search engine advertising is attributed to its unique targeting abilities, high degree of relevance, mass reach for advertisers and strong return on investment, and we look forward to more efficiently providing these benefits to our advertisers through a new automated system," said Paul Gardi, the newly-appointed executive vice president and general manager of IAC Advertising Solutions. "With Ask Jeeves Sponsored Listings, we are allowing a larger network of advertisers to optimize their advertising spend on Ask Jeeves and our syndication network, one of the largest advertising networks on the Internet."

Key advertiser benefits include:
-- Premium placement on Ask Jeeves and its syndication network
-- Low spend minimum that enables both large and small advertisers to
purchase search advertising via a self-service system
-- Increased visibility into campaign performance, enabling more effective
management of campaigns

"The automated Ask Jeeves Sponsored Listings product delivers on our commitment to provide advertisers with the right information and tools necessary to achieve real results," said James Speer, vice president of marketing and products for IAC Advertising Solutions. "Ask Jeeves' customers wanted greater control over their advertising campaigns, and our new product empowers advertisers without sacrificing the high level of customer service for which Ask Jeeves is known."

Developed using proprietary Ask Jeeves and third-party licensed technologies, Ask Jeeves Sponsored Listings provides:

Extensive reach:
-- With only a 13% average audience duplication between Ask Jeeves and
other major search engines, Ask Jeeves Sponsored Listings enables
direct advertisers, agencies and SEMs to reach Ask Jeeves' unique
(unduplicated) audience and its syndication network of high quality
partners
-- According to Nielsen/NetRatings (May 2005), the Ask Jeeves network
reaches nearly one-quarter (25%) of the total online population

Ease of use:
-- Automated system provides control over purchasing, management and
campaign optimization
-- Instant campaign activation and a 24 hour cancellation policy
-- Streamlined interface and user-centric workflow enable customers to
make informed and effective purchasing decisions

Multi-campaign management features:
-- Advanced spend management options including daily or monthly budget
limits

listing results

specifically for Ask Jeeves
