Citysearch Appoints Andy Shenkler As Vice President of Search & Product Development

Wednesday, October 8, 2003 - 02:30, a leading local search service, today announced that Andy Shenkler has joined the company as vice president of Search & Product Development. In this new position, Shenkler will be responsible for the direction and management of the organization's search strategists, developers and technicians, establishing Citysearch as the Internet's leading local search engine.

"Andy's strong technical skills, superior analytical ability and search experience make him a welcome addition to the Citysearch team," said Briggs Ferguson, president, Citysearch. Prior to joining Citysearch, Shenkler served as senior director of Digital Services and Global Asset Management Group of EMI Music Distribution in Santa Monica, CA. There he created and led the team that developed EMI's Digital Asset Management System and was responsible for the company's multi-million dollar global digitization initiative. He also developed EMI's digital supply chain process, as well as the concept for EMI's Digital Release Management System, which managed and aggregated EMI's digital media content creation. Shenkler also served as the manager of Internet Technology for Yahoo! / Geocities, where he managed multiple teams of programmers, engineers and network administrators around the world.
