COLLEGEHUMOR.COM SNAGS ITS FIRST TV COMEDY SERIES “THE COLLEGEHUMOR SHOW” TO PREMIERE ON MTV

(January 22nd, 2009)--- CollegeHumor, the popular web comedy brand, today announced the company's first foray into television programming with details of their highly-anticipated new comedy series “The CollegeHumor Show,” slated to premiere during MTV’s new Sunday night block on February 8th, 2009 at 9:30 PM ET/PT.

Created by two high school friends (Ricky Van Veen and Josh Abramson) to share their crazy photos and stories while in college, CollegeHumor.com has grown into a pop culture phenomenon with over six million loyal monthly readers. Shot in the actual site offices and featuring the actual site employees (who play themselves), “The CollegeHumor Show” is a scripted offbeat look into the company that creates some of today's most popular Internet comedy. The twenty-something characters infuse their workplace with a chaotic frat-house attitude, making it feel more like a summer camp without counselors than an actual functioning business (turn the boss's office into a ball pit? Why not?). The strength of the show lies in its ability to capture the energy and randomness of Internet comedy while grounding the fast-paced scenes in a relatable, character-driven story. The joke-crammed storylines veer off towards absurdity, and you never know when a sketch might break out. This is the office where daylong water cooler antics are occasionally interrupted by a five minute work break and the only office politics are total anarchy.

CollegeHumor is well-regarded for creating some of the web's most popular comedy videos (via their original programming division) including the "Hardly Working" series, which served as the inspiration for the new MTV show. Additional series include "The Michael Showalter Showalter," a short-form talk show hosted by comedian Michael Showalter featuring notable guest stars Paul Rudd, Michael Cera and Andy Samberg amongst others. The site’s first series, "Street Fighter-The Later Years" remains one of the internet's most popular web series.

The CollegeHumor Show is executive produced by Ricky Van Veen, Josh Abramson, Sam Reich and Scott Tomlinson. Tony DiSanto, Liz Gateley, Brent Haynes and Sam Grossman are the MTV executives in charge of production.
