IAC Appoints Michael Jackson President of Programming

Thursday, January 26, 2006 - 01:00

IAC/InterActiveCorp (NASDAQ: IACI) announced today that Michael Jackson has been appointed President of Programming. In this new role, Mr. Jackson will be responsible for overseeing the Company's initiatives in the development, acquisition and distribution of programming. Mr. Jackson previously served as Chairman of Universal Television Group and as Chief Executive of the UK's Channel Four.

"It's time for us to begin. Like the internet itself, there are no sure paths for proceeding, but Michael Jackson, with his curiosity, ranging intelligence and superb experience in all forms of production, is the best person to begin to grow multi-platform content businesses," said Barry Diller, Chairman and CEO of IAC.

"This is an enormously exciting opportunity to grow content businesses that combine the unique capabilities of the internet with the art and science of traditional programming," said Mr. Jackson. "There could be few more interesting places to do this job right now -- IAC is perfectly placed to realize this vision."

Mr. Jackson, 47, joined USA Networks, Inc. in 2001 as President and Chief Executive of USA Entertainment. There, he oversaw the USA Network, Sci Fi and Trio, as well as the USA television studio and USA Films. Mr. Jackson assumed the role of Chairman of Universal Television Group following the 2002 merger of USA Networks, Inc. and Vivendi Universal Entertainment. In this capacity, he orchestrated the group's fiscal turnaround and led a major investment in original cable programming that resulted in Monk, The Dead Zone and Battlestar Galactica. Mr. Jackson has had a long career in British television, serving as Controller of BBC2 and BBC1, and Chief Executive of Channel Four, where he launched two new channels, E4 and Film Four. In the U.K. Mr. Jackson was responsible for programs such as Da Ali G Show, Queer as Folk and Trading Spaces.
