ReserveAmerica Awarded the National Recreation Reservation Service (NRRS™) Contract

Sunday, August 8, 2004 - 21:48

ReserveAmerica, the United States' leading outdoor recreation reservation and campground management solutions provider, today announced it was awarded the National Recreation Reservation Service (NRRS™) contract. The NRRS™ contract integrates what were previously two separate recreation-related reservation systems, the National Park Reservation Service (NPRS) and the National Recreation Reservation Service (NRRS). The NRRS contract, positioned as 'Recreation One-Stop," will consist of all the federal recreation agencies including but not limited to the National Park Service, USDA Forest Service, Army Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation, among other government agencies. ReserveAmerica has processed and managed over 189 million dollars in use fees for the NRRS since 1997, while achieving a rating of 'exceeding expectations' from 98% of surveyed consumers using the ReserveAmerica provided system and services.

"This contract award recognizes ReserveAmerica's proven capability to deliver exceptional consumer satisfaction levels and state-of-the-art technological solutions for management of campgrounds and ticketing of historic sites. On behalf of our employees across America, from Ballston Spa, NY to Rancho Cordova, CA, I would like to welcome the participating government agencies in the Recreation One-Stop initiative, and further convey our continuing commitment to providing both the Federal agencies and the American public, with a service that continues to exceed expectations," remarked Brock Weatherup, President of ReserveAmerica. "With our recent launch of ORMS, America's state-of-the-art recreation reservation platform, and as we manage record levels of online reservations, ReserveAmerica looks forward to the next 10 years of leading the industry with technology innovations and successful partnerships with the NRRS participating federal agencies."

"This is a great day for outdoor recreation in America! The enhanced NRRS Recreation One-Stop will provide a valuable service to the public, making it easier for millions of Americans to discover and capitalize on the diverse range of opportunities found on lands covering one-third of the nation -- the lands and waters that belong to us all," said Derrick Crandall, President of the American Recreation Coalition. "We applaud the Departments of Agriculture, the Interior and the Army for working together to unify all of these offerings into a single system and inviting top companies to develop the technology and communications tools needed. We have great confidence in the selected company, ReserveAmerica, which has successfully managed the precursor system since 1997 with outstanding customer satisfaction and a commitment to innovation. ReserveAmerica is an excellent choice to make Recreation One-Stop's potential a reality."

ReserveAmerica has successfully managed more than 25 million reservations from 1984 to 2004, with 3.5 million reservations processed by ReserveAmerica in 2003. Roughly 485 million dollars in recreation use fees have been processed and delivered to ReserveAmerica's State and Federal agency partners during the past 20 years of industry leadership. ReserveAmerica led the camping industry to the Internet by processing America's first online camping reservation in September 1997.

"The NRRS contract will expand ReserveAmerica's business and create a significant number of new jobs at our core offices located in Ballston Spa, NY, Madison, WI and Rancho Cordova, CA," said Annette Hatch, Director of Federal Partnerships for ReserveAmerica. "Currently employing more than 800 staff in our five U.S. data and call centers, we are proud to have the phone calls and systems supporting America's beautiful public lands handled by our experienced and dedicated employees."

To help manage and facilitate the more than 3 million reservations and reservations management needs for more than 150,000 campsites each year, ReserveAmerica employs more than 800 full and part-time staff in its 5 US based offices in California, Wisconsin, Texas, New York and Florida and one office in Ontario.
